About Dr Freeman

Dr Lea Freeman completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne in 1999, before undertaking her medical degree at the University of Queensland, graduating in 2003. She gained her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practice in 2009.


Dr Freeman worked as a GP with a special interest in Women’s Health, before sub-specialising in Breast Medicine, completing her Fellowship with the Australasian Society of Breast Physicians, of which she is currently Vice-President. Lea consults privately at BreastCare, and also maintains a public position at Breastscreen Queensland. She continues her strong interest in surgery by assisting surgeons, including Dr DeViana, at Pindara hospital.


As a Breast Physician, she enjoys seeing the entire spectrum of breast medicine, from the screening of women at increased risk of breast cancer, the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant conditions, through to survivorship after breast cancer.
