Dr Daniel de Viana is a graduate of the University of Queensland, where he completed his undergraduate studies in 1988. He went on to gain his General Surgical Fellowship training through the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane with rotations through various metropolitan and regional centres in Queensland.
Dr De Viana gained further experience in breast cancer management including breast reconstructive surgery, in breast centres in the United Kingdom before returning to the Gold Coast where he set up BreastCare, a dedicated one-stop breast clinic in 2000.
In addition to a comprehensive private practice in breast and thyroid surgery for the last 20 years, Dr De Viana works as a VMO at BreastScreen Queensland, Southport, where he is the Q group surgical representative for BreastScreen Southport.
Dr de Viana is a past president of the Australasian Society for Breast Diseases, past executive member of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand and a current member of the Oncoplastic committee of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand. He continues to actively teach in Oncoplastic and Ultrasound workshops with these organisations and remains involved in research and has published also in these areas.

Dr Daniel de Viana is a Medical Graduate from the University of Queensland who completed his General Surgery training through Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane.
He undertook comprehensive postgraduate surgical training in Breast Surgery and Cancer Management in the United Kingdom.
He first started working at The Gold Coast Public Hospital in 1999, initially working as a Staff Breast Surgeon.
Dr de Viana also serves as a Consultant Surgeon for Breastscreen Queensland, Southport Branch.
